Selecting A Domain Name

Postby Jane Newman on Mon Jul 26, 2010 11:20 am

Hi,

Okay, I understand having a niche keyword phrase is good in the domain name but what should I be looking for say if I want to broaden my site ?

i.e. I've seen video's online which talk about a specific product and they do the KW research and end up running with the name of the product and model number etc in the keyword and they buy a domain with the product name in but what happens when you want to keep adding similar products which might suit your visitors - wouldn't you need a domain name that was more generic to cover a wide range of products ?

And then, don't you fall back into the trap of having a domain name which is difficult to rank because it is so generic ?

Hope someone can help me out.

Domain names can be any length up to 67 characters. n its desperation to find a domain name, some names to enter a hyphen and a highlight word. When you start your search domain can be 5 words or phrases that describe better capture the spirit of the area you are looking for.
